WHAT CAN YOU WIN?
When you join the Tree People and complete Pledges, you get a chance to win fantastic prizes.
Every couple of weeks until the end of June 2009, the Kōkako will visit eight trees. It will choose trees owned by people who have completed at least one pledge in the previous fortnight. If the Kōkako visits your tree you win an instant prize. It could be a mountain bike, an SD movie camera, movie vouchers or something else that the Kōkako has in its prize bag.
Every few months until the end of June 2009, we'll award even better prizes. These are big packages called the Tāne.
There is only one Tāne winner for each competition round, and judges will select that winner after careful deliberation. The Tāne prize packs are not only for the owner of the winning tree, but also for their school. (If you've finished school, you could nominate your local school to get the prize, or the school you went to as a child.)
Every two weeks, from 26 May 2008 until 30 June 2009, eight lucky people will get an email telling them that they've won one of the prizes listed below. To be eligible for the Kōkako Prize Draw you need to have completed a pledge within the fortnight before the draw is made. The prizes include:

Every dollar saved on overheads such as heating and lighting means a vital extra dollar for the education budget. For most schools, an energy audit will reveal practical, easy-to-implement energy-saving measures. And when the audit's free, it's an even better deal!
